Let’s help our body to get stronger and boost the immune system with the help of natural ingredients that have been known for centuries for its antibacterial properties and more effective than the flu shot!
This recipe is adapted from the book by Jessica Jean Weston “Healing smoothies and juices”. Jessica is a certified Holistic Health Coach (Institute for Integrative Nutrition).
“ If you peek in the medicine cabinet of any wild herbalist, you’ll likely find at least one bottle of elderberry syrup. This ancient classic has been used for thousands of years and is a staple for a very good reason. It is known to be extremely immune-boosting and more effective than the flu shot!” says Jessica.

How to make immune booster tea
Add 3 1/2 cups filtered water to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, add 1 cinnamon stick, 1- inch piece fresh ginger root (sliced), 2/3 cup dried elderberries and brew for 30 minutes. Strain and add honey, stir until melted. Allow to cool and refrigerate in a sealed container for several weeks.
Take 1 tbsp of syrup before 30 minutes before meal intake.
To enhance the immune-boosting effect, instead of water, you can use the Astralagus root Chaga Reishi mushroom tea or take it separately. This tea is based on all-natural ingredients has many positive properties. However, the mushroom broth is recommended only for adults! Therefore, we offer elderberry syrup for those who have small children!
I do, what I cannot NOT to do which is SHARING A RECIPE THAT CAN HELP MANY PEOPLE TO STRENGTHEN IMMUNE SYSTEM.
I also feel that though homeopathic medicine is ignored by some people, it exists way longer than the supplement in the pill form that we count on, and which is too generic sometimes to fulfill our specific needs.
In my blog I share the recipes that can help other people to go through Lent season easier, to make food tastier by adding extra spices and tricks in comparison to consume food as mere fuel.
